Self Compassion Journal Prompts

Talking with yourself like you would a friend is one of my go-to self-compassion practices for myself and clients.

try Using one of these writing prompts to show yourself support during a difficult time:

1. Think of a time when a close friend or loved one was struggling. How did you respond?

2. Reflect on your own situation, how do you think this loved one would respond to you?

3. Respond to yourself as a friend by talking outloud or writing things down.

4. Notice if your tone or thoughts toward yourself/situation change when you think of yourself as a friend.

Therapy can help you to develop a self-compassion practice if you're struggling with anxiety, depression, and other issues. For more information, you're welcome to schedule a free intro call. You can contact me here.
